Pollution in the Middle East
Currently, there are several pollution problems occurring throughout the middle east. Some of these include desertification (when the land is stripped of its nutrients and nothing can grow), depletion of underground water resources, lack of perennial and/or permanent water bodies (which has caused many sea-water desalination facilities to be built), and coastal crude oil spills. Some even more shocking pollution is happening in Armenia. Soil has been poisoned by toxic chemicals like DDT. Nuclear powerplants have been placed in seismically active locations. A energy crisis in the 1990's caused deforestation as the people of Armenia used wood for fire. And the draining of Sevanna Lake for hydro-power threatens drinking water supply. Iraq is a major culprit to air pollution, especially in urban areas. The carbon emissions come mostly from vehicles, refinery operations, and industrial effluents.

a. What can happen when there is water damage?
Water damage can cause havoc when left alone and not cleaned up. The moisture, or even dampness can cause mold growth. Mold is a type of fungi that grows in dark, moist places. It can cause allergic reactions and respiratory problems for those who may be allergic. Getting rid of mold will greatly improve your indoor air quality.

When steam is not vented from a dryer to the outdoors, it can create mold growth from excessive moisture.
c. What toxic gas gets exhausted from a vehicle?
The toxic gas exhausted from a vehicle would be carbon monoxide. It is dangerous for us to breathe in and takes part in destroying the atmosphere's ozone layer.
d. What is the problem with cleaning supplies?
Cleaning supplies have many harmful chemicals that are not healthy to breathe in, so make sure you are cleaning with them in a well ventilated area.
e. How can a plant in your house be harmful to the air?
If a plant is excessively moist or water is spilled near it when it is being watered, this can cause mold growth.
